I had one of the best trips to Disney this past Saturday! On Friday one of my best friends texted me saying she wanted to go to Disney. We both have annual passes and I wasn’t working so we agreed to meet early Saturday morning and go to Disney World!
Epcot is currently hosting the Flower and Garden Festival (it’s my favorite festival they have all year) so we went there first. We got to the park around 11am so everything in the World Showcase was open. First we grabbed some of the festival guides and maps and then we started our trip around the world.
Alright, I’m going to be honest, I don’t drink a lot. Actually, I barely ever drink. We have some flavored vodka in the house but it’s more of a special occasion type thing. Alcohol has so many empty calories I would rather just eat a bag of popcorn and watch a movie, you know?
Anywho, we started at the plaza where we had a sparkling pineapple wine (that was nasty, if you’re at the Flower and Garden Festival do not pay $11.75 for that crap). Because it was so expensive we didn’t want to just throw it away so we did drink it, but it was disgusting. We walked over to Mexico right after and I picked up a watermelon white sangria and she got an elderflower pineapple margarita. Those drinks were both spot on!
Right after Mexico we walked over to Italy, the advertised a rossini (a bellini with strawberries instead of peaches) but they weren’t serving it so we shared a frozen Italian margarita with limoncello and tequila, it was good, nothing spectacular… By that point, keep in mind I have the tolerance level of someone who barely drinks, we were stumbling around drunk.
We went to America to eat some lunch and the girl at the counter convinced my friend to buy a coke slushy with ‘whisky,’ we sat down at our table, I got a water bottle (got to keep hydrated when you’re drinking and standing in the sun all day), and she took a sip and found out it was bourbon in her drink! Apparently whisky and bourbon aren’t the same thing?? I didn’t know either.
My friend really doesn’t like bourbon so I tried it and ended up drinking the whole thing. My new favorite alcoholic beverage is anything that contains bourbon. I told my dad this last night and he thought it was hilarious when I told him I’m secretly an 80 year old man who just wants to sip some bourbon and read a book.
After lunch we went to France and my friend got a La Vie en Rose slush thing, I had a sip but the coke and bourbon slushy pretty much did me in until we got to Hollywood Studios where we got frozen lemonades with some form of alcohol or another before going on the Tower of Terror!
During this time I took some pictures with some topiaries, got some Henna on my hand, ate chocolate, and managed to drunk call Eduardo. I apologize for the lack of pictures in this storytime XD but I forgot to save my snaps (you can follow me on Snapchat : Novembear), I don’t post there consistently but I do post there all the time!
At the end of our tour around the world it was only 1pm and we had the rest of the day to sober up, go on some rides, and get sunburned before heading home. It was really a great time!
My tricks to surviving this : Keep moving, drink tons of water, wear sunscreen!
Until next time! Xx
