Ipsy : November 2016

I’m late, I’m late, I’m late, I’m late!

This makes me want to watch Alice in Wonderland (the Disney version, I’m not too much of a fan of the Tim Burton one).

First, I intended to post this last week but I never got around to it, in fact I never even wrote it so here goes, short, sweet and to the point.

Ipsy is a subscription service, you sign up, put in your credit card number, get charged ten bucks, fill out a beauty survey, and twiddle your thumbs until that pink package comes in the mail. There’s a theme every month, this (technically last) month it was Rockstarlet, cute. My favorite theme thus far was definitely Sugar Highness.

The bag last month was so f*cking cute I died a little, this month was no different. It’s a navy blue and gold bag with constellations that create makeup products. The bag feels like foam or something but I still love it.

Onto the products, this time I’m not going to go through the cost breakdowns just because I’m not sure how many people actually care about that (if you do care and you read Ipsy reviews to see cost comparisons please let me know so I can keep doing it!), and because this bag is a little outdated at this point.

I’ve gone over this a little bit before but I have sensitive skin so I don’t like mixing up my skincare routine that much, I’ll probably give this pur-lisse Blue Lotus balancing moisturizer  a shot but I’m not expecting much and I probably won’t like it. My sister has even more sensitive skin than I do so perhaps my brother will get some use from this *shrug*.

And then I got a Mad Lash by the Balm, if you’ve seen my other Ipsy reviews you know I’m not a fan of The Balm, I think most of their products are kitschy gimics. It’s not like I opened this saying, “Oh it’s by The Balm, I’m going to hate it” but I couldn’t get it open and then when I did there was mascara everywhere on my white desk, I’m just not a fan…

This bag wasn’t really my favorite, I’m not mad at it, but last month definitely had me pumped up to be a part of the Ipsy family. You get good brands, like this next product, the Maracuja Oil by Tarte. So don’t let “maracuja” fool you, it’s passionfruit oil… I’m not a fan of putting extra oils anywhere on my body, I don’t even really like hand lotion, so I’ll probably use this once or twice but it’s just another meh kind of thing.

I also got a brush, which I actually really like getting brushes. It’s an angled eye brush, I’m sure I’ll find a place for it in my collection. I can’t read the brand name and at the moment I’m too lazy to look it up… My favorite brush right now is actually one I got in a subscription from Coastal Scents.

And then last but not least is this red lipstick. Yas. I’m a red lipstick fiend, I love red lipstick in any form. This one is in the shade Dark Red and it’s from Absolute New York. It’s soft, dark, and stays put almost as well as my KVD liquid lipstick.

All in all, this bag wasn’t a winner, wasn’t a loser. Hopefully I’ll have Birchbox women and men up by this weekend *fingers crossed*. Also be on the lookout because I have every intention of participating in Blogmas, a tradition where you write and publish a post every day up until Christmas… I intended to prewrite most of those but uh finals and life kept me from doing so… Hopefully I’ll get one up every day!

Until next time! Xx
